An apartment big enough for all of us and our ideas

I forget the actual percentage of how many people try to loose weight or decide they'll be healthier for the new year, but it's high. So why not start out the BDBC with a health related challenge?

This week (and hopefully weeks after this) you'll need to incorporate some type of fiber into a meal or dish. It could be anything, like your favorite recipe revamped with a fiber twist, a change you made to meals you eat regularly, etc.

Here are a few good sources (there are lots more though!) of fiber to get your mind jogging:

Oatmeal
Flax Seeds
Wheat Flour
Fiber One
Brown Rice

The Rules:
Entries must be posted before Sunday, February 10, 11:59 pm.
A photograph, recipe, or some kind of instructions must be posted to prove that you did it.
A short reflection (could just be a sentence!) about the challenge.

Have fun!

Hmm sounds good. Smells good too.
Yup, are you up for the challenge? I'm already working on mine. I ate oatmeal for breakfast today. It was pretty good. I added a bit of cinnamon and brown sugar to it so it was tasty. Plain oatmeal gets so boring...
I had Hunny rosted peanuts!! from the SUPERBOWL~~
Aw man. That sounds good. I didn't see them there! lol. That was a lot of fun. =] I can't believe the Giants won in the last minute! lol
Hah, its ok. I guess they earned it. I kinda wanted to see history though, a PERFECT 20 wins. Oh well, there is always next time.
Yeah, it's cool. =] I still haven't called my sister yet to see how she took it. lol
I bet she is pretty pissed off. (I love how there is like two completely different conversations going on at the same time. Haha)
Lol I was just about to say that... Maybe we should end this one so people don't get too distracted from the Challenge. lol
Haha, I agree.
Excellent challenge, Jane! I love oatmeal as well, but my weakness is sweets, so I've found that if I put in a small bowl of Mott's Blueberry Applesauce - it's awesome and has no added sugar, but gives it just enough sweetness that you don't have to layer it with brown sugar or honey (http://www.motts.com/product_info/apple_sauce_single.asp). These are great snacks when you crave carbs (as I usually do) as well.

Oh that sounds so good! I was looking for apples this morning so I could cook them and stir it into my oatmeal, but we seem to be out of them. This looks like a much easier and delicious alternative though. Thanks for the heads up!

I can't wait to see your entry (if you're participating this week)!
Great challenge idea!! Here is a helpful link for you to find out about the amount of fiber in your food. You will be able to pick out foods you like to eat and know what the fiber content is.
