Eat, Pray, Love - I've heard a lot of good things about this book. I'm not drawn to it in the bookstore, but if I had to read it I think I might like it.
The Kite Runner - I'm apprehensive about reading a book with such a depressing subject, but I've heard good things about the book. I think it would be something I would be happy to have read, but not happy reading.
There are so many more, but I can't think of them at the moment.
I'm currently reading Eat, Pray, Love and I'm really enjoying it. The author seems a little self-absorbed but it is a memoir so I'm slowly getting over it. I'd recommend it.

I don't have any specific book titles that I'd like to read, but I do enjoy light hearted books that have some humor... Or, well, as long as it's entertaining, I'm good! lol. I can read deep novels to, as long as it's interesting and approachable. =]
I agree. I prefer books that leave me smiling at the end. I usually end up reading more serious books here lately though. I don't know what's up with that!
I actually just finished reading "The Wedding" by Nicholas Sparks. I thought it was a little slow at first, but he does not fail to melt your heart at the end. So if you want a real chicky flicky type of book, I highly recommend it.
Currently reading: "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan. Still haven't read past page 5. =P

Hi Meredith,
I'm not really into reading books, unless they're cook books (LOL) :-) Although, If you know of any good books on cooking I'd be more than happy to check them out.
My mom is a writer and is getting ready to publish a children's book. She was a writer/editor for the government for 40 years. Her book is for ages 9-12 and is called "The Secret of the Dutch Doll". It's a mystery about a diamond thief and takes place in the Caribbean. If you know of anyone that might be interested I'll see if I can send them a free e-book when She's finished with it.
Also, if you're interested in cooking, come join me in the kitchen. It's going to be lots of fun!
That's awesome that your mom is writing a book! I'd love to read it when she's done.
I go through stages with my reading. Despite not cooking much at all (I don't have a lot of talent for it right now, unfortunately) I love reading through cookbooks as well.
Meredith - I don't know if there is any interest out there, but I just started reading a book last night called "The Geography of Bliss: One Grump's Search for the Happiest PLaces in the World" by Eric...no kidding, this is his real name...Weiner. I'm into about the first 50 pages and it is incredibly enlightening and humorous. I'm a real so slow reader, so if anyone would like to join me, we'll be caught up in no time.
That sounds like a really fun book! I'll have to add it to my list. I have some books that I've already started reading, but I might have to check that one out if I get through those. Thanks for the suggestion!
