When You Get a New Digital Camera...

…you might want to try it out on your hubby and puppy.

And while they might be cooperative at first, they will eventually tire of your picture taking and try to hide….

…or complain that the flash is hurting their eyes.

Or maybe even turn the camera on you! (Note the puppy’s “Please leave me alone so I can nap” look.)

Today I invested in my first digital SLR camera, a Nikon D5000. I’ve been saving up birthday money and such for awhile now and found a good package deal that I went ahead and bought today. It was really scary spending that much money on a camera, but I like it so far. I obviously know very little, but I’m looking forward to learning all that it can do.

I recently won a giveaway at one of my new favorite blogs My Good Cents. The blog is dedicated to all things thrify, which I love, and has lead me to many great deals I might have otherwise overlooked. When I saw that there was a giveaway for the new Michael Buble cd, Crazy Love, I knew I had to throw my name into the bucket.You can imagine my delight when I was contacted because I had won. I was even more excited when the cd arrived to brighten up a rough day!

Michael Buble is one of my absolute favorite singers and his new cd does not disappoint. I love the mix of classic songs, like “Georgia On My Mind,” and his new songs, like “Haven’t Met You Yet.” “Haven’t Met You Yet” has such a catchy tune that it’s one of my current songs on repeat, both in my mind and in my car. I’m so excited to have his new cd, thanks My Good Cents for such an awesome giveaway!

Sam and I went to a Persimmon Festival this past weekend. I had never really thought of persimmons really worthy of having a festival, but it sure was a great time! In honor of the persimmon, Sam and I shared a persimmon pudding (which is really more like pie). Yummy!
