Philosophy of temptation

Temptation-

What is this emotion that we feel? The will that yearns you to do its bidding, clawing at your mind and at your soul, forcing you to beg for one more taste of its indulgence. What is the voice that speaks to you in your sweet slumber? asking for its feeding of your freedom.

Some see this as a demon in your mind, a ventriloquist of your very being that speaks its devilish desires through you with your unwilling consent.

Others see this strange feeling as an opposite conscience; one that apparently bares ill will toward whoever it is housed in. But what do we truly feel during this? Is it our self destruction that brings this inevitable clash of consequence and righteousness? Or are we played as the puppet by the demon who latches on and laughs as he pulls his strings of fate?

No one knows this for sure. Or is it that a man who knows him self can describe it, and evaluate it based on the knowledge of his own life?

What we do know on the other hand, something that applies to all that exist; is the simple fact that this strange phenomenon described as “Temptation” is universally negative and must be countered by all means necessary. Of course no one ever succeeds in this struggle against the apparent evil, that I have met. And all we can do helpless to its power is try and try again to fight it, in the eternal struggle of your true desires.
